A dedicated biking and walking trail that connects Woodbridge and Lodi Lake with Downtown Lodi and its Heritage District.
A rail-to-trail project transforms an unused rail corridor into a vibrant public place. When converted into green space, Lodi’s unused Union Pacific spur line will become a valuable community facility, as well as a new economic driver in the region. These corridors are a natural fit for bicycle and pedestrian travel, having gradual grades and marked crossings. Through a process known as railbanking, the railroad can retain ownership of the corridor in perpetuity while permitting use of the right-of-way as a bicycling and walking trail.
